This is a Gelli plate printed monotype inspired by my sketches made whilst walking through my local woodland.
A monotype is made by inking up a plate (in this case a Gelli plate) and removing and manipulating the ink to create an absolutely unique drawn image - the ink that is removed creates the mid-tones and light areas of the print. The image is then printed onto printmaking paper to create a unique and one-off piece of art. Each print can only be made once and is numbered AP 1/1 (one original print).
This print is made with Akua Intaglio in printed onto HoSho paper.
Print size is 10 x 8 inches with additional space for signature and title.
This print is presented in an ivory mount and is ready for framing.
