Songs have been inspired by the paintings and word of Gillian Lee Smith and her on-going touring exhibition 'We all Cast Shadows'
The paintings themselves are about the communities of women that were left behind in troubled times, to look after the land and their families.
Songs of the Sea songwriters, Andrew Weatherhead, Liz Dykes and Fiona Love were captivated by Gillian's work and produced songs that were reminiscent of the time.
Recorded and Produced at Calder Recordings by Piper Dawes.
